Fall Series 1

In these photos, I was trying to recreate the City Silhouettes by the English photographer Jasper James. Jasper James Sihouettes tries to capture the urban life of China in the birds eye view aswell as capturing the people in China too. However, because it was hard for me to get a birds eye view of the city, I wasn't able to recreate the photos extactly. Instead, I would take a photo from a high vantage point or a view that I was able to capture many buildings. After, I took one of my friends and put them up a white wall and posed them to make sure they weren't looking at the camara. During editing I took the picture of the buildings and used them as my background. I tried brightening the photo and later, I took the photo of my person, and fade them so they blend into into the background. I wasn't able to get all of my photos because Jasper James used different backgrounds and different people, but that was difficult for me because there weren't many high vantages poin...

Composition 5

This assignment was based off the photographer Richard Avedon. He would photograph his models telling random things to see how they would react. At one point he would stand behind the camara, pretending to take the photos as they posed. Soon they would get tired and take of the "mask" and that's when he would start taking the photos. We followed a similar procedure. My three models were Jade, Lauren, and Sophie. At firs,t I gave them stuff to think about and take a picture of their reactions, but later I had them just talk about anything they wanted to. This allowed them to look natural and unposed in front of the camara.
