Composition 4

Symmetry refers to a line the splits the object in half. If both sides of the image are the same, it is considered symmetrical. The line that splits a symmetrical object is call a line of symmetry. In these images, I really wanted to use a vareity of objects to really capture the idea of symmetry in different ways.

Asymmetry in a photos is when the two sides do not look the same. In my photos, it tried to capture this by trying different prespectives while taking the photos making sure to that the asymmertry was really noticiable.

Balance is a techinque used in photography that takes two differenct objects and they are placed in a way so that they look like equivalent weight in the image. This is the hardest because I didn't really understand the concept so I just took photos on what I thought that balance meant.

  2. I like these pictures, but I think you could have a bit more variety next time (for example, more pictures outside Drew). I don't have any suggestions about your actual composition or the quality of the photos, though.

  4. I really like your asymmetrical photos because they showed details around Drew that we don't normally see. The only suggestion I have for you is to to change your angle in your symmetrical photos to make the photos more symmetrical.

  5. Your photos are all beautiful. With the symmetry photos, you could have straightened them out a bit more to better see the symmetry. Also, the second photo in your balance series seems to be more asymmetrical because you have the front of one person and the back of the other. If you had had them both looking forward or both backward, then this photo would have followed the technique better.

  6. I really like how you captured the concept of asymmetry in all of your asymmetrical photos. I like the perspective and depth that you utilized in these photos. In some photos you decided to take up close photos, while others you used no zoom. Overall, great job on capturing photos for all concepts of the assignment!

Spring 3

These are last batch for these series. I was starting to run out of ideas, but I still thought that the concept of the realistic images being put together with black and white drawings was really interesing.

Spring 2

This week I really focused on erasing all the extra space from the drawing images that I didn't need. This I think is one of my most time consuming series I have ever done. I kinda mixed in the idea of imagination and reality into this draft. For next time, I think I wanna try both of them for a whole entire week to really get a sense of black and white realistic drawings in colored real backgrounds versus black and white imaginative drawings in colored real backrounds

Spring 1

This week we started our Spring final. I chose to imitate the photographer Ben Heine. However, because I am not skilled enough to draw and printing out images to photograph with becomese a waist of paper, I chose collage black and white drawings into real images. I think the contrast between pencil drawings and reality is really interesting so I wanted to really pursue that theme.
