Draft 3

This week was a little harder to find subjects that would fit my project. It was especially hard to find photos around the school. Because this was a short draft, I still managed to find subjects that I hadn't used yet. During the editting process, I'm still making sure that there is a nice contrast between the white and black so that the black won't overshadow the white and the white won't overshadow that black. I also wanted each of my images to contain words or numbers so that the photos don't look flat, and plain.

Draft 2

In the previous draft, I was able to find many images that followed Nathan Lyons style of subject out of their natural habitat. In this new draft, I made sure that I didn't have people in my photos becuase that was one of the aspects of Nathan Lyons that I missed. In the editting process, I needed to make sure that the shadows didn't cover that subject of the images. The images with words, I made sure that they stood out from the background.

Winter Series Draft 1

This semester I chose to replicate the photographer Nathan Lyons. He is known for his honest and often questioning depictios of America's cultural landscape. He decises sequences of black and whate picutres that incorporate graffiti and advertisement in order to explore the use of language in images. As I was editting, I wanted to make sure the contrast of the black and white brought together the meaning of the photo but at the same time resembled the likeness of Lyons images. Because Lyons focuses on images that stand out of their natural habitat, it was hard finding subjects that matched that topic so I tried to make it seem like they were out of their natural habitat.
