Class Portraits

This week we are focusing on class portaits. In this assignment, we took photos of our classmates to replicate one of their images.

I replicated Casey's collage project from her fall series by cropping a certain part of the image out and putting a piece of nature into it

Anna focused on recreating Liechtenstein painting photos from her winter series.

I chose to replicate Kiki's levitation images from her fall series.

I chose to replicate Sophies panning series from her winter series

I chose to do Ava's replication of the ghosts images from her winter series.

I took a photo of Armon replicating his fall series that imitated Ben Heine

  1. These are really interesting interpretations of everyone's work. I especially like your one of Armon's work because you used the visual elements of his work in your own . Keep up the good work!

  2. Nice job with these portraits. I think that your photo of Casey is the strongest. Great work!

  3. Great work, especially with the Casey photo. My only suggestion is to have more focus on the artist exclusively, as the one of Kiki has some people in the background.

  4. Good work this week! My only suggestion is I think your editing could have been a little cleaner, particularly with my photo and Ava's photo in terms of getting smooth edges around the person you are cropping out.

  5. Great job. I think you edited each photos every well. only suggestion would be to focus more on the details of what the artist created. other than that, you did a good job.

  6. I really like the one of Anna as you filtered it very accurately with how she did it

Composition 4

Symmetry refers to a line the splits the object in half. If both sides of the image are the same, it is considered symmetrical. The line that splits a symmetrical object is call a line of symmetry. In these images, I really wanted to use a vareity of objects to really capture the idea of symmetry in different ways. Asymmetry in a photos is when the two sides do not look the same. In my photos, it tried to capture this by trying different prespectives while taking the photos making sure to that the asymmertry was really noticiable.  Balance is a techinque used in photography that takes two differenct objects and they are placed in a way so that they look like equivalent weight in the image. This is the hardest because I didn't really understand the concept so I just took photos on what I thought that balance meant.

Fall Series Draft #2

In this new draft, I realized that Jasper James' City Silhouettes were a bit brighter than what I had made them and that the photos of the people were all different sizes. Some of them were zoomed in while others were farther way. I started with the city as the background but I only edited it after I combined it with the picture of the person. This way, it allowed me to see how much the background need to brighten to make the picture of the perosn stand out more.

Design Cover

I think this week was one of the most difficult assignments so far. It took me a really long time for me to find covers that I could make. Not only that, it was also a really hard to find the right fonts and images to replicate covers so they looked very similar. This project was very time consuming but it was really fun to do.
